QUALITY PEDIATRIC CARE IN LAS VEGAS

SICK CARE

Sick-child visits are visits that are scheduled in order to address new or worsening symptoms or health complications.  Typically, it is used to address an acute condition or an injury and is designed to expedite their recovery.

WELLNESS VISITS

Well-child visits are scheduled when your child is healthy. These visits are used to prevent illnesses by receiving scheduled vaccinations, tracking growth and development and addressing any parental concerns. During a comprehensive well visit, your child’s interim history will be reviewed. Feeding, sleeping, and developmental milestones are typically discussed as well.

NEWBORNS

In the typical newborn visit, the provider will discuss the prenatal and perinatal history.  Parents will be encouraged to express any concerns.  The baby will receive a comprehensive exam.  It is our desire to forge a partnership with families to ensure the baby has a great beginning and bright future.

IMMUNIZATIONS

Vaccination is the foundation and pillar of pediatrics.  It is one of the most effective preventative health measures.  Since the introduction of routine childhood vaccinations, the number of cases of most vaccine-preventable illnesses in the United States declined by more than 90 percent.  We provide immunizations recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.  We believe that they are one of the most important public health accomplishments of the 20th century.  In order to maintain the standard of care and keep all of our complex and medically fragile patients as safe as possible, we require all of our patients to be immunized.

PRENATAL CONSULT

Many families desire to meet a physician before the birth of their baby, therefore some of our providers offer prenatal visits, so that families may interact and discuss any pertinent issues.

SPORTS PHYSICAL

It is important for growth and development that children receive daily physical activity. Some choose to participate in organized sports. We offer preparticipation evaluations. These are designed to review the patient’s medical history and give them a physical examination to ensure their readiness to participate.

Our board-certified physicians collectively have over 150 years of Pediatric experience. They have spent the majority of their professional careers promoting health and well-being for the young people of Las Vegas.

AUTISM SCREENING

We understand that it can be difficult to spot the signs of autism in babies and toddlers. To help parents and caregivers, Desert Valley Pediatrics offers thorough assessments to determine if there are any telltale signs of autism.

ADHD

We specialize in early diagnosis and personalized treatment plans for children with ADHD, as well as providing ongoing education and resources. Our goal is to help these children manage their symptoms, so they can live full and healthy lives.

BREASTFEEDING COUNSELING

We provide comprehensive pediatric care, including breastfeeding counseling services. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff is available to answer your questions and provide support and guidance to ensure a successful breastfeeding experience.

DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING

Desert Valley Pediatrics offers developmental screenings for children from birth to age 5. Our providers are qualified to evaluate physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development, to guarantee kids get the care they need to reach their highest potential.

EDINBURGH POSTNATAL DEPRESSION SCALE (EPDS)

We’re committed to supporting families with parenting challenges. We offer mental health screenings, including the EPDS, to detect potential postpartum depression, and provide education and assistance to new parents. Our team of experienced healthcare professionals is here to help.

NUTRITIONAL EVALUATION

Desert Valley Pediatrics understands the importance of nutrition for children and provides comprehensive nutritional evaluations to assess their current dietary habits, nutrition knowledge, and lifestyle. We are dedicated to helping children meet their daily nutritional needs and establish healthy eating habits.
