DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING FOR CHILDREN in Las Vegas
At Desert Valley Pediatrics, we offer developmental screenings for children from birth to age 5 across our Las Vegas, Summerlin, and Centennial Hills offices. Our providers assess physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development to ensure that all children receive the care they need in order to reach their full potential.
DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING INFORMATION
Screenings are conducted by experienced providers using evidence-based tools, including the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and M-CHAT for autism concerns. Results are reviewed directly with parents, and we provide referrals to Las Vegas-area specialists when additional evaluation is recommended.

Developmental Concerns We Screen For
Our Las Vegas pediatric team screens for a range of developmental concerns, including:
Speech and language delays
Evaluating whether a child’s communication skills are on track for their age
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
Using standardized tools such as the M-CHAT at 18- and 24-month well visits
ADHD and attention concerns
Identifying early behavioral patterns that may benefit from evaluation or support
Gross and fine motor delays
Assessing physical development milestones from infancy through early childhood
Social-emotional development
Recognizing early signs of anxiety, sensory sensitivity, or social difficulty
DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING Q&A
Answer: A developmental screening typically involves a questionnaire about the child’s development and a physical exam to assess the child’s height, weight, and gross motor skills.

If a screening identifies a potential delay or area of concern, our providers will discuss next steps with you directly.
