William Downey, MD

About

Dr. William Downey is board certified in general pediatrics and is a lifelong member and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has lived in Las Vegas since 1985 after completing his residency at Childrens’ Hospital in Oakland, California.

He began his career working at Operation Life Medical Center.  This was a community-based clinic through the National Health Service Corps located in North Las Vegas. He received The Regional Health Administrator’s Award for his work there.  He has since been in private practice for over 30 years promoting the health and well being of children.

He has had multiple leadership positions at many of the local hospitals and was a member of the Medical Reserve Corps.  Dr. Downey was a founding member of the board of governors of Summerlin Hospital.  He is very dedicated to preventive services for children and the promotion of health and fitness for families.
