About
Dr. Priya Chib knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a doctor. Her mother often tells people that she was doing her first physical examinations with a Fisher Price Doctor’s kit at the age of 3.
Dr Chib graduated as valedictorian of her class from Independence High school in San, Jose, California and went on to attend University of California, Davis where she majored in Biochemistry and minored in Psychology. She attended Ross University, School of Medicine thereafter. While a 3rd year of medical school, her passion for taking care of children developed and she committed herself to Pediatrics. She did her internship and residency at the Goryeb Children’s hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. A lifelong Californian, she moved back to California after her training to start her career in Pediatrics.
Dr Chib joined Desert Valley Pediatrics in February of 2017. She has enjoyed supporting families as their children grow from infants into self-sufficient adults. In addition to providing preventive care, she has an interest in breast-feeding, obesity medicine, behavioral and mental health issues. She is dedicated to patients and can’t imagine another job that would be as fulfilling for her as working in Pediatrics. She considers it a privilege to take care of your children.
Dr. Chib is a Board Certified Pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Locally, she is involved in the Nevada Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics where she has held the position of Chapter Breastfeeding Coordinator for the last 4 years. She successfully obtained the 2020 AAP’s Section on Breastfeeding lectureship grant that helped to procure Dr. Jennie Thomas, who is known internationally for her expertise in breast-feeding medicine, for the Nevada AAP Chapter meeting that was held in late 2020. She continues to advocate for breastfeeding with her patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Chib enjoys spending time with her two boys and her husband. She enjoys outdoor and indoor cycling, cooking, reading, and traveling.
